Keyword Searching

Searching has never been simpler!
Select Category, type in up to 3 key words and a minimum and maximum price you want to spend and press the return key or click on search. You may use anything from 1 to all 4 boxes in compiling a search.

Keyword AND search.

To find white earrings type - white earrings - and press the return key. Simple isnt it!
You may also type - white and earrings - and the result is the same.
You can use up to 3 words so - yellow white earrings - will find all earrings with these three words in the description eg - Ladies round yellow gold earrings with white accents.

Keyword PHRASE

Type - "white earrings" - using inverted commas and only items with this exact description will be found.

Keyword OR search

If you type - white or earrings - the computer will locate any item with white OR earrings in the description ie white necklace, round earrings etc.

You may use capitals if you wish but this will not affect the search results.

Depending on the speed of your computer, your connection speed and how much of the database you are searching this will take between 1 and 10 seconds.

Category
Click on the drop down menu to reveal a selection of searchable categories. This will speed up your search. For instance, to view all the earrings in the database select earrings and click on the search button. The default is 'All' which examines the entire database.

Stock Number
Enter the stock code or part of it into the keyword search box to quickly locate a specific item. An alternative would be to tag/tick it when you first see it and then recall it at anytime with the view ticks link inthe left tool bar.

Price Finder
Need a present for less than £50? or have you had a collection for a colleague raising £45. Use this feature to put an upper or lower limit on searched items. Let us take the first example, a present for less than £50. We can just enter 50 in to the Max Price box and all items from £1 to £49.99 will be selected. It is better perhaps to put 40 in the Min Price and 50 in the Max box. Remember do not use a '£' sign in front of the numbers.

Search Button
When you have selected your options, simply press the search button at the left edge of the search bar or press your return key on the keyboard. If you have selected nothing and the bar reads either 'All' or remains blank, the entire database will be entered on to your system.

Page Numbers
At the top and bottom of each page after a search, is a list of page numbers from 1 to 99, and each page containing 30 items, with the number of pages being dependant on the results of the search. To access one of these pages, simply click on it. The 'Number of Hits' is indicating how many items in the database match the criteria you have selected, Page is the current page being viewed, and 'Items 1 to 30' say, indicates that you are viewing the first 30 items of your selection. In the example above 45 items have been found and we are on page 1. If we clicked on the number 2 the bar would then read 'Items 31 to 45', and these items would be displayed. To view an item in more detail, click on its thumb nail image.

Ticks
We thought it would be useful, if as you were browsing, you were able to make up your own personal list of items which you are interested in. Simply click in the check box (square box) to the left of the item and it is added to your database or scratch pad/list as it is sometimes called. To view your list of ticked items, click on 'View Ticks' in the left tool bar. To remove an item re-click in the check box and the tick is removed. The ticked items are saved for 31 days and can be viewed off line if your browser is set up for it, but the prices may have changed when you reconnect to the web site. To clear all your ticked items click the 'Clear Ticks' link in the left tool bar.
